According to the managing director of Cantor Gaming, Joe Asher, "significant amounts" of capital will be utilized to install the new mobile gambling systems in hotels and casinos in Nevada. Many believe the new gaming devices will attract the younger casino gaming crowd since they are more familiar with electronic devices and new technology. The fear factor is pretty much non-existent in this segment of the casino gambling population.
Nevada has become the first state in the nation to approve the use of handheld devices for casino gambling in any public area. These new devices will be used anywhere the gambler desires—including poolside and in restaurants. The only restriction is places where play can't be supervised, like hotel rooms. These new handheld devices will have bingo, poker, blackjack and horse race betting on them. These devices are expected to help hotels and casinos in Nevada make better use of their space.
